Project history:

In the village of Novonikolskoye in the Aleksandrovsky District, a local resident built a church in memory of his mother and to the delight of all the villagers.

Petr Zadirov, a renowned parachute tester, was born in Novonikolskoye. He was raised by his mother, a devout woman. He is a believer himself. But until 1999, the village had no church. It was destroyed after the Revolution. A remarkable story is connected with the construction of the new church:
"His parachute didn't open. It was getting closer and closer to the ground, but it still wouldn't open. And it was as if he had a vision of his mother holding a downy shawl. And so it happened that he fell into a snowdrift. Sliding down this snowdrift, he ended up on the ground and survived."

Whether his mother covered him with the downy shawl, or whether it was sheer luck, Zadirov didn't suffer a single scratch after the fall. That's when Pyotr Ivanovich decided to build a church dedicated to the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God in his home village. Now there is a bishop's courtyard here.
